McCullum Strokes Double-Century To Secure Draw

India and New Zealand will head into the third and final Test with the series still level after the two sides drew the second match in Hyderabad.

Brendon McCullum's career-best score of 225 put New Zealand well ahead and after they declared on 448 for eight in their second innings to set India 327 to win, the home side closed on 68 without loss.

McCullum faced 308 deliveries during his innings, hitting 22 fours and four sixes during his sixth Test century and first since being promoted to open the batting.

He was given excellent support by Kane Williamson, whose 69 contributed to a partnership of 124 for the fifth wicket which effectively batted India out of the match.

They did rally, Shanthakumaran Sreesanth dismissing McCullum and Tim Southee (11) while there was also a pair of wickets for spinners Pragyan Ojha and Suresh Raina before the declaration came.

With no chance of a positive result, India saw off 17 overs with Virender Sehwag hammering an unbeaten 54 in as many balls and Gautam Gambhir making 14.

The third match begins in Nagpur on 20th November.
