Australian explosive batsman Nic Maddinson has been drafted into the Guyana Amazon Warriors squad in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League to replace New Zealand batsman Martin Guptill.

Guptill, who captained the Warriors to five wins in their first six games will now head for his international duty with the New Zealand team ahead of the two-match Test series against Zimbabwe which begins on 28th July.

The New Zealand batsman was ranked sixth (game 15 in progress at the time of composition) with 164 runs from seven matches at an average of 23.42 but what stood out was his captaincy taking the Warriors to the top of the table in the first half of the tournament.

Maddinson, who plays for the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League has 1101 runs from 51 Twenty20 games at an average of 23.93.

The 24-year-old made his debut for Australia in T20I against India in Rajkot in 2013 and has played two games thus far scoring 38 runs in it.
