No Shoaib Akhtar Or Umar Gul For Zimbabwe One-Dayers
Pakistan have left fast bowlers Shoaib Akhtar and Umar Gul out of their squad to take on Zimbabwe in a series of five one-day internationals that begin on January 21st.
21 players have been invited to a conditioning camp in Lahore which starts on January 15th.
"They will not be considered for the one-dayers against Zimbabwe because they have to prove their match fitness," chief selector Salahuddin Ahmed said.
Both Akhtar and Gul struggled for fitness during the recent one-day and Test series against India.
Meanwhile, a number of young players have been invited to the camp with senior players Yasir Hameed, Faisal Iqbal, Abdul Rehman, Mohammad Sami and Shahid Afridi amongst those names not present.
