Northamptonshire Chairman Schanschieff Resigns
Simon Schanschieff has resigned as Chairman of Northamptonshire County Cricket Club.
The new Chairman is to be Martin Lawrence. Simon said “after nearly eight years as Chairman it is time for new blood and ideas. Although it has been rather more time consuming and challenging than I anticipated when I took on the job, it has nevertheless been a great privilege. Martin, who has been on the committee for five years and was Chairman of the 2005 Centenary Committee, will, with his passion for cricket and his wide business and commercial experience be an ideal Chairman and I wish him well”.
Tony Holton who has given a huge commitment to the club for over twenty years stood down as Vice Chairman after this years Annual General meeting. It will be Martins intention to appoint David Beckett as Vice Chairman. David has been a committee member since 2002, acted as Chief Executive for four months in 2004 and with his background in Business Banking and Finance will give active and valuable support to Martin.
