Nottinghamshire Insist David Hussey Will Play In 2008

Nottinghamshire have insisted that David Hussey is contracted to play for them this summer.

The Australian was bought by the Kolkata Indian Premier League franchise for $625,000 and with the tournament taking place from April 18 until June 1, which clashes with the opening of the domestic season.

He would theoretically miss Notts’ first five Championship matches, and all eight group matches in the Friends Provident Trophy.

Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell stated: "We are currently talking to David and his advisors so I would prefer not to comment at this stage, other than to say that he signed a new two-year contract with us after the end of last season."

Hussey recently made his debut for Australia in the Twenty20 International against India in Melbourne.
