Nottinghamshire County Cricket Players will be taking time out from their final four day match against Sussex to attend Nottingham Playhouse for a history lesson on Tuesday night.

First team players – Chris Read, Paul Franks, Charlie Shreck, Karl Turner, Luke Fletcher, Steven Mullaney, Alex Hales and Graeme White - along with Chief Executive Derek Brewer and Director of Cricket Mick Newell will be attending the Gala Performance of The Ashes.

Although Notts International Graeme Swann is unable to attend he is lending his support by donating a round of golf with himself to the evening’s silent auction.

Other guests include Her Grace the Duchess of Rutland, the Financial Times’ Mrs Moneypenny, Miss England 2010 Jessica Linley and other local personalities.  All monies raised from the Gala will go to children’s charity Belvoir Castle Cricket Trust.
