Fast bowler Charlie Shreck has been recalled from his loan spell at Kent and has gone straight into Nottinghamshire's team to face Hampshire in their LV= County Championship opener against Hampshire at Trent Bridge.
Shreck had been given the chance to get first-team cricket under his belt with Kent but following injuries to Darren Pattinson and Andy Carter, he has been swiftly brought back to the Midlands and is ready to play from 14th April.
"We’ve picked up a couple of injuries but Charlie has had a good four days at Kent and he’s ready to go tomorrow," Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell said.
"This time last week we had six fit seamers and now we’re down to four so the side has picked itself in the end."
Looking ahead to the match, Newell added: "We usually play on result pitches at Trent Bridge and we need to make sure we’re on the right side of those results.
"Having the tag of defending champions is irrelevant to me as I can see six teams with a genuine chance of winning it and we’re one of those."
Nottinghamshire: Mark Wagh, Paul Franks, Alex Hales, Samit Patel, Adam Voges, Ali Brown, Chris Read (captain, wicket-keeper), Steven Mullaney, Luke Fletcher, Andre Adams, Charlie Shreck
