Nottinghamshire Twenty20 Game Rained Off
Torrential rain in the past two weeks saturated the ground and although the groundstaff worked wonders to make it possible to stage Saturday’s game against Lancashire, more bad weather overnight ruled out the possibility of cricket being played today.
Chief Executive Derek Brewer said: “It’s a real shame that we can’t put a game on but there was simply no chance of play with the conditions as they are.
“The ground staff did a tremendous job to enable the game to go ahead on Saturday and the 8,000 supporters who came to Trent Bridge were richly entertained.
“But the weather has not improved and it would have been impossible to consider trying to play cricket with the outfield as it is.”
Fans who bought advance tickets for today’s match will be able to use them for one of the two remaining home fixtures in the group stage, against Derbyshire on Wednesday or Yorkshire on Friday.
