Notts Sport Refurbishes Dorset Indoor Cricket Centre

Notts Sport has played a key role in the refurbishment of facilities at a prestigious indoor cricket centre.

The world’s leading supplier of non-turf cricket pitch systems for coaching, practice and matchplay provided multiple installations for the £25,000 facelift at Dorset Indoor Cricket Centre in Hurn, near Christchurch.

The extensive works at the centre, used by cricket clubs, schools and community groups, included the installation of an England and Wales Cricket Board-approved NottsBase D System, laid on to a sand envelope base.

The centre also took advantage of Notts Sport’s bespoke service to provide two tailor-made systems - a PVC-backed carpet for a number of areas including the full length of the bowling machine area, and longer pile carpet for the bowling ends – both of which were installed over the existing surfacing.

The installation was undertaken by Devotec Ltd of Feniton, Devon.

Richard Mockridge, the centre manager and former ECB Development Officer for Dorset comments: “We are delighted with the quality of the products provided and the installation.

“We were particularly pleased that Notts Sport could offer a bespoke service to meet our specific requirements in certain areas of the centre.

“The new facilities will prove to be a real benefit to players of all ages and abilities.”

Notts Sport Chief Executive Shaun Patrick adds: “Our non-turf cricket pitch systems provide consistent playing performance and quality combined with outstanding durability.

“The extensive refurbishment project undertaken at Dorset Indoor Cricket Centre proves that our systems are equally as effective indoors as they are outdoors.”
