Old Trafford Revives “Madchester”

It’s one of sport's oldest rivalries, Lancashire V Yorkshire and this Wednesday during the “Roses” Twenty20 Cup game, Old Trafford will become a cauldron to with the sounds of “Madchester”.

New Order, Oasis, The Stone Roses, The Smiths, Inspiral Carpets, Ian Brown, Happy Mondays and other classic Manchester acts like Simply Red, M People, Richard Ashcroft will create a home atmosphere like never before.

Last year the Yorkshire Phoenix came to a Sold out Old Trafford and left with a 15 run victory. One year later, the Lancashire Squad is desperate to avenge this defeat and it’s hoped that the near capacity crowd will rock out to their favourite “Madchester” songs, becoming the Lightning’s 13th man.

The idea for the “Madchester” theme came from former Lancashire player now Sky Sports commentator, David Lloyd. During the recent England Test Match, “Bumble” remarked how great it would be to hear the “Best of Manchester” music blasting around Old Trafford. So his wish is our command, and this Wednesday we hope to see the Sky Sports Commentary team joining in the fun.

There are still tickets available for this Wednesday “Roses” game at Old Trafford starting at 5:40pm;
