There were wins on the opening day of the ICC World Cricket League Division Five for hosts Nepal, Singapore and the United States of America.

Nepal bowled Jersey out for 174 before reaching their victory target in 38 overs in an impressive display and just the sort of start the home team would have been looking for.

Singapore proved to be too strong for Bahrain, posting 224 for eight from their 50 overs before bowling Bahrain out for just 98 in 33.3 overs.

The most emphatic victory of the day came in the match between the USA and Fiji, where the States were victorious by the huge margin of 285 runs, outclassing the Fijians in all departments. After scoring 353 for eight, USA defended their mammoth score by dismissing Fiji for 68, their innings lasting just 28.2 overs.
