India received a hammer blow with the news that pace bowler RP Singh will be out of action for two weeks with the hamstring injury he sustained on day two of the fourth Test against Australia in Adelaide.

A team spokesman explained that the left-armer had torn his hamstring:

"He has a small hamstring tear and will not be in action for at least the next two weeks," he said.

He sustained the injury fielding and could not take the field of play on day three.

India's other bowlers struggled as Australia closed the day on 322 for three in reply to India's 526. Australia lead the series 2-1.
