Pakistan Blind Team Claims Twenty20 Win In Adelaide

Blind cricket: Pakistan have beaten Australia by five wickets in the opening Twenty20 match in Adelaide. In the morning at Park 25, Adelaide, Pakistan won the toss and asked Australia to bat first.

Australia scored 152 runs on the board for the loss of six wickets in their stipulated 20 overs. Mathew Horsey was the top scorer with 31 runs, Muhammad Waqas took 2 wickets for 24 runs in 4 overs, while Abdul Razzaq claimed one wicket for 24 runs.

Pakistan in reply suffered the early blow when in form opening batsman Muhammad Jameel fell cheaply in the second over. The tight bowling and good fielding of the Ausies didn’t allow the Pakistani batsman to score freely. But Anees Javeed’s innings kept the Asuies on bay. He remained unbeaten on 67 runs and was well supported by Muhammad Waqas who chipped in with 24 runs.

Pakistan eventually reached the target of 153 runs in the last over for the loss of 5 wickets. Peter Robinson, McCarthy and Lindsay Heaven shared a wicket each.

Result: Pakistan won by 5 wickets

Man of the Match: Anees Javeed
