Pakistan Call Up Rao Iftikhar For Final Test Against India

Pakistan have called up Rao Iftikhar as cover for the final Test against India in Bangalore, with the pace bowler set to join up with the squad which has been beset by injuries.

Rao, will replace second wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed in the 15-man squad to reinforce the pace attack after Umar Gul missed both previous tests with back trouble and returned home.

The touring committee had originally opted for uncapped Abdur Rauf before the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided on Rao because of his superior experience and prior success in India.

"Iftikhar has left for New Delhi and will join the team in Bangalore before the third and final test from Saturday," chief operating officer of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shafqat said.
