Pakistan 183-6 (Ahmed Shehzad 54) beat
New Zealand 80 (Shahid Afridi 4-14) by 103 runs
Third Twenty20 International, Christchurch
Scorecard

Pakistan produced a stunning performance to thrash New Zealand by 103 runs in the third and final Twenty20 International between the two sides in Christchurch.

The largest margin of victory between two Test-playing nations in Twenty20 cricket was set up after they scored 183 for six and then dismissed the home side for just 80.

Ahmed Shehzad made 54 in 34 balls from the top of the order and he was ably supported by Mohammad Hafeez, who made 34.

Towards the end of Pakistan's innings, Umar Akmal blasted 30 in 19 deliveries and Abdul Razzaq an unbeaten 34 in 11 balls as the New Zealand bowlers were given a torrid time.

It was then their batsmens' turn to struggle as the top four failed to register a run - Jesse Ryder, Martin Guptill, Dean Brownlie and Ross Taylor all departing for ducks and James Franklin falling for three as New Zealand slipped to 11 for five.

Scott Styris smashed his way to 45 in 34 balls but he was the only player to reach double figures on what was an odd scorecard - indeed Nathan McCullum hit the next best score of just eight.

Leg-spinner Shahid Afridi returned four for 14 as he ripped through the lower order while Razzaq earnt the man-of-the-match award by taking three for 13 in his four overs.

New Zealand's innings - their lowest in Twenty20 International cricket - lasted just 15.5 overs.

They did, however, claim the series 2-1, following comprehensive victories in Auckland and Hamilton.

The two sides now meet for three Test matches, the first of which begins in Hamilton on 7th January.

Pakistan In New Zealand 2010-11
Jesse Ryder blazed his way to 107 in 93 balls to set up a consolation victory for New Zealand over Pakistan in the sixth and final One-Day International in Auckland. New Zealand claimed a 57-run victory after scoring 311 for seven and then dismissing Pakistan, who claimed the series 3-2, for 254.
Ahmed Shehzad scored his maiden One-Day International century to set up a series-clinching 41-run win for Pakistan over New Zealand in the fifth match in Hamilton. Shehzad made 115 in 109 balls as New Zealand posted 268 for nine and they then dismissed New Zealand for 227 inside 47 overs to move into an unassailable 3-1 lead in the six-game series.
New Zealand have been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate during the fourth One-Day International against Pakistan in Napier. They went on to lose the match by two wickets, and bowling their overs too slowly meant they ended one over short of their target.
Misbah-ul-Haq's calm and collected unbeaten 93 guided Pakistan to a two-wicket victory over New Zealand in the fourth One-Day International in Napier. Pakistan overhauled New Zealand's score of 262 for seven with an over to spare with Misbah holding the innings together as wickets tumbled at the other end.
Mohammad Hafeez hit 115 as Pakistan hit back to level their six-match One-Day International series against New Zealand with a 43-run win in the third match in Christchurch. Hafeez's innings helped Pakistan post 293 for seven and New Zealand then closed on 250 for nine and the series remains locked at 1-1 with three games remaining.
The second One-Day International between New Zealand and Pakistan in Queenstown was abandoned due to rain after just 4.2 overs of play were possible. Pakistan had raced to 31 without loss, with openers Mohammad Hafeez and Ahmed Shehzad on four and 25 respectively, before heavy rain descended.
