Essex seamer Tony Palladino has been fined by the club after being reported for knocking down the stumps during his side's LV= County Championship defeat to Somerset last week.

Umpires Peter Willey and John Steele reported the incident on day two of the match at Colchester and the club has decided to fine Palladino an unspecified amount, which will be paid to a charitable trust.

"Tony has been fined by the club following his action in the Somerset game, it was in the heat of the moment, whilst Tony has apologised for his actions we cannot let the event go without punishment," head coach Paul Grayson explained.
