Leicestershire 144-9 (Cosgrove 33) beat
Durham 117 (Parkinson 3-20) by 27 runs
North Group, Natwest T20 Blast, Chester-le-Street

Callum Parkinson registered figures of 20 for three as Leicestershire dismissed Durham for 117 in a chase of 145 to register their fourth consecutive win in this season of Natwest T20 Blast in Chester-le-Street on Thursday.

Durham won the toss and opted to bowl first. Luke Ronchi (32), Cameron Delport (29) and Mark Cosgrove (33) all got starts but Durham kept picking wickets through Paul Collingwood (4-24) and Ryan Pringle (2-22).

Leicestershire were on course for a huge total as they crossed the 100-run mark at the end of the 11th over with just two wickets down but they eventually lost their momentum and managed to add just 44 runs off the final 52 deliveries.

Collingwood was outstanding with the ball as the hosts restricted Leicestershire to 144 for nine in the 20 overs.

Durham failed to capitalise on the momentum from the first innings as only Michael Richardson (11) and Usman Arshad (27) managed to cross the double digits among the top six with Parkinson (3-20) and Colin Ackermann (2-22) being the wrecker in chief.

Even though, Paul Coughlin (42 not out) tried to wage a lone fight at the end, Durham could manage only 117 runs in the 20 overs before they were bowled out.

Leicestershire, who are yet to lose a game this season top the group while Durham languish at the bottom after losing all the three games so far.
