Half-centuries from Parthiv Patel, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma secured India a six-wicket win over Sussex in their first warm-up game ahead of the limited overs leg of their tour of England.
In a game that was reduced to 45 overs per side, Sussex were bowled out for 236 and India reached their target with four overs and a ball to spare.
Left-arm seamer RP Singh returned four for 45 as Sussex's innings lasted exactly 45 overs after Matthew Machan made 56, supported by Joe Gatting's 46 and Ben Brown's 48.
Patel then hit 55 from the top of the order, Sharma an unbeaten 61 and Kohli a fluent 71 in 83 balls to steer India home.
Praven Kumar, Munaf Patel, Amit Mishra,Ravichandran Ashwin and Suresh Raina had earlier all taken a wicket apiece although Raina will have been disappointed to have been dismissed with the winning line in sight having hit 12 in as many balls.
Sachin Tendulkar hit 21 in 17 alongside Patel opening the innings but it was he 104 runs added by Kohli and Sharma that ensured India were not going to slip up.
They next play Kent in another one-day game at Canterbrury on 26th August.
