Pedro Collins Is Latest Surrey Signing

Surrey have announced that left-arm West Indian seamer Pedro Collins is to join the club on a two-year deal and will play as a Kolpak player.

Collins, 31, has played 36 tests for the West Indies and is currently preparing for the West Indian domestic season with Barbados and will join Surrey in 2008.

Collins was part of the West Indian Twenty20 World Cup side which failed to make it to the Super Eight stage.

Surrey cricket manager Alan Butcher said: “We have been looking for a quality left arm seamer and Pedro fits the bill perfectly.

"He is a proven performer at Test and first-class level and will add variety to our attack.

“The captain (Mark Butcher) thinks he was the West Indies’ best bowler on England's last tour of the Caribbean and respected critics of the game feel he should have toured England this summer.”
