South Australia fast bowler Peter George has been added to Australia's Test squad in New Zealand as a standby player for Ryan Harris.
Harris reported soreness in his left side after the fourth One-Day International in Auckland and Cricket Australia have added George to their squad ahead of the first Test in Wellington which begins on 19th March.
"Peter George is an exciting young fast bowler who has a very good Sheffield Shield season with South Australia," National Selection Panel (NSP) chairman Andrew Hilditch commented.
"The NSP believes that should the opportunity arise, Peter has the skills to succeed at this level and will benefit greatly from being around the Australian set up."
George has taken 56 wickets in 16 first-class matches since making his debut last season.
