Nottinghamshire 210-8 (Wessels 63) v Leicestershire
Natwest T20 Blast, North Group, Grace Road
After Nottinghamshire went on to post a massive 210 run total in their innings, rain played spoilsport as their Natwest T20 North Group clash against Leicestershire was abandoned without a result.
The rain arrived at the completion of the first innings and there was some hopes when the officials declared that the game will resume at 21:27 local time with Leicestershire needing 68 from 30 deliveries but only for the wet weather to force the encounter into abandonment.
Earlier, it was Leicestershire, who won the toss and opted to bowl first. Riki Wessels (63) and Alex Hales (51) set the tone for the innings with a blistering 104 run stand that came off just 53 deliveries as things looks ominous for the hosts.
Hales fell on reaching his half century and with support from Tom Moores (19) and Daniel Christian (33), the visitors crossed the 150 run mark by the 14th over.
Even though Brendan Taylor (0) and Samit Patel (0) fell without contributing, cameos from Steven Mullaney (14) and Billy Root (14 not out) pushed the total to 210 for eight in the allotted 20 overs.
