No play was possible on day three of the opening Test between Bangladesh and the West Indies in Chittagong after rain left the outfield unplayable.

The two teams will attempt to begin the fourth day earlier than originally planned with Bangladesh handily placed on 255 for four in their first innings.

The second day was also completely lost meaning the match is now likely to end as a draw.

Half-centuries on the opening day for Mushfiqur Rahim (68 not out) and Tamim Iqbal (52) gave them a solid start while Marlon Samuels took two wickets.

Devendra Bishoo bowled the West Indies to a first overseas series win since 2003 as they beat Bangladesh by 229 runs in the second and final Test in Dhaka. Bishoo returned figures of five for 90 as Bangladesh were dismissed for 278, losing their last six wickets for just 22 runs in a disappointing collapse.

Solid Bangladesh Frustrate West Indies

Bangladesh produced a solid batting effort having been set a world-record score of 508 by the West Indies to win the second and final Test in Dhaka. They closed day four on 164 for three - requiring a further 344 to win or more realistically, set up to bat through the final day to save the game.

Bravo Scores Maiden Century As West Indies Build Lead

Darren Bravo scored his maiden century as the West Indies closed day three of the second and final Test against Bangladesh in Dhaka some 331 runs ahead with seven second innings wickets in hand. Kirk Edwards followed up his first inings century with 86 to drive the West Indies to a score of 207 for three after they dismissed their hosts for 231 to secure a lead on first inings of 124.

Kirk And Fidel Edwards Put Bangladesh Under Pressure

Edwards Kirk and Fidel put the West Indies into a strong position on day two of the second and final Test against Bangladesh in Dhaka with a century and a five-wicket haul respectively. 26-year-old Kirk scored his second Test century in just his third match as the West Indies were bowled out for 355 and Fidel's return of five for 58 - his 11th five-wicket haul - heaped the pressure on Bangladesh, who closed on 204 for seven.

West Indies And Bangladesh Battle For Honours

Kraigg Brathwaite, Kieran Powell and Kirk Edwards all scored half-centuries as the West Indies closed the opening day of the second and final Test against Bangladesh in Dhaka on 253 for five. Brathwaite made 50, Powell 72 and Edwards was unbeaten on 71 but a brace of wickets from Nasir Hossain ensured that Bangladesh did not allow the tourists to have things all their own way.

Sammy Expecting Improvement In Second Test

West Indies captain Darren Sammy expects his side to step up and show improvement during the second Test against Bangladesh. Although two full days were lost to rain in the opening game in Chittagong, the West Indies were still put under severe pressure by the home side, ceding a first-innings lead and then losing two wickets in a final session when they were set 226 to win before the game was drawn.
