West Indies 303-8 (DM Bravo 68) v Sri Lanka
Third Test, Pallekele, day four
Rain once again frustrated both Sri Lanka and the West Indies on day four of the third and final Test match in Pallekele, with the result that with a day to go, the tourists are still to complete their first innings.
The West Indies closed the day on 303 for eight as Rangana Herath returned figures of four for 54 before the weather closed in to force a premature end.
Left-arm spinner Herath dismissed Brendan Nash (67), Carlton Baugh (2) and Darren Sammy (8), adding those three scalps to his dismissal on day two of Dwayne Bravo for nought.
Sulieman Benn then made an unbeaten 29 and Kemar Roach 12 not out to prevent Sri Lanka breaking through and bowling them out.
The entire third day's play was abandoned due to the rain while half-centuries from Devon Smith, Darren Bravo and Shivnarine Chanderpaul had laid the foundations for the West Indies over the opening two days.
The series is level at 0-0 following rain-affected draws in Galle and Colombo.
