Rain washed out the final two days of the West Indies' tour game against the Sri Lanka Cricket Board President's XI in Colombo.

The only play possible on the opening day had seen the tourists dismissed for 176 and the President's XI slip to 59 for three.

New vice-captain Brendan Nash top scored for the West Indians with 62 in 107 balls as Chanaka Welagedara and Malinga Bandara both took three wickets.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul (33), Adrian Barath (21) and Andre Russell (20) all made starts but could not go on while there were two wickets apiece for Thilan Thushara and Ajantha Mendis.

When the Sri Lankans replied, Kemar Roach, Nelon Pascal and Darren Sammy all returned a wicket each to dismiss Tharanga Paranavitana (1), Dimuth Karunaratne (11) and Lahiru Thirimanne (30).

The first Test between Sri Lanka and the West Indies gets underway on 15th November in Galle.
