First Test, Cape Town, day three
Heavy and continuous rain led to the abandonment of the third day's play in the first Test between India and South Africa in Cape Town without a ball being bowled.
The day started with drizzle which steadily transcended to a heavy shower. The covers began to come out for the first time post lunch at 13:00 local time but were once again brought on seven minutes later with rain returning.
From there on the weather hardly relented and eventually, the play was called off by 15:30 local time.
South Africa continue to lead by 142 runs with eight wickets in hand with two more days of play left in the game which will have a minimum of 98 overs to be bowled in each of it.
