Ray Price Leaves Worcestershire As Knappet Signs

Left arm spinner Ray Price has taken the decision not to accept the offer of a contract in 2008 at Worcestershire.

He says, "The whole family has thoroughly enjoyed the three and a half years in Worcester and we would like to thank everybody at the Club, including the members and supporters, for their wonderful support and friendship. At times it has been frustrating watching
from the sidelines but to be part of a title winning side this year has been a fantastic experience. We will be leaving on a high. We have no current plans to return to County Cricket in 2008 although things can always change."

Chief Executive, Mark Newton, says, "We will be very sorry to see Ray go as he has been an integral part of our one day success in recent years. He and his family are lovely people to work with and we have told Ray that we are only a phone call away. He could
undoubtedly perform at the highest level for a few more years yet and we sincerely wish him and his family well in the future."

Meanwhile, 22 year old wicket keeper and batsman Joshua Knappett has signed a contract for the 2008 season.
