Record Profit Revealed By Lancashire
Turnover was down on the previous year at £11.7 million, which came as no surprise after England's Ashes win on home soil in 2005.
"The most encouraging aspect of the accounts is that our net debt has now been reduced to £463,000, having stood at £3.1million only two years ago,'' said honorary treasurer David Hodgkiss in his report.
"The coming year will again be more challenging than the last. The general trading environment continues to be increasingly challenging and, more specifically, the hosting of cricket is becoming more and more expensive, particularly international matches.
"It will therefore be difficult to sustain these results at current levels. However, the club remains optimistic about the future and will continue to look to improve its business operations and facilities.''
The encouraging report comes just days after Lancashire announced plans for the regeneration of Old Trafford.
