Remarkable Summer Of Success For Middlesex Juniors

The Middlesex Youth Squads have enjoyed a remarkable summer of success yielding a range of silverware to add to the Twenty20 trophy that the first team picked up. Pride of place goes to the Under 17 and Under 15 squads for winning their respective national prizes (the Under 15's triumphing in a nail-biting one run win off the last ball of the game). The full list of honours is as follows:

Under 19 Inter County Championship Winners
Under 17 ECB County Championship Winners
Under 17 ECB County Cup Winners (shared with Lancashire)
Under 16 Standard Bank Jersey Festival Winners
Under 15 ECB County Cup Winners
Under 12 Jefferson Shield Winners
Under 11 Taunton Festival Runners-Up
Under 10 Taunton Festival Winners

Academy Director Graeme West was full of praise for both the players and coaching staff, "I am delighted with the progress that our young cricketers have made this summer, we are starting to see the benefits of the structures that Toby Radford introduced. Our talented players are reaping the rewards of the expertise and experience that has been handed down to them by the coaching staff, which has given the players the belief to express themselves and play positively, we have won a high percentage of the games that have gone down 'to the wire' which suggests our players can cope with pressure situations and play without fear."
