Scorecard

Ruhunu Eleven ended Leicestershire's involvement in the Champions League Twenty20 qualifier with a four-run win in Hyderabad.

A second consecutive half-century from Dinesh Chandimal ensured that a brave effort from Leicesteshire, led by Abdul Razzaq, was in vain.

Chandimal blasted 62 not out in 51 balls, hitting six fours and two sixes and was given good support by Shalika Karunanayake, who made 28 in 15 balls.

Leicestershire did not help themselves in the field, conceding 16 wides although Ruhuna made hard work of their defence, dropping catches to allow the Foxes a chance.

Razzaq, who earlier took his 100th Twenty20 wicket, played magnificently, also hitting six fours and two sixes, making 68 in 46 deliveres with some clean hitting as Leicestershire gave game chase, before falling away as Janaka Gunaratne and Alankara Asana Silva both returned three wickets.

The Foxes needed ten to win from the final over and Chinthaka Perera kept them to five and they had managed just 28 runs in the final six overs of the innings, unable to accelerate once the spinners took hold.
