Sales Closes In On Sixes Lead

Northampton's David Sales has moved into second place in the Sky Sports Sixes League, behind leader Tim Groenewald on balls faced.

Sales hit two maximums against Durham at the weekend moving him from third to second, with Surrey’s Ali Brown slipping to third. Warwickshire’s Tim Groenewald added one six to his season’s tally maintaining his lead at the top of the table in the process.

The Sky Sports Sixes League, sponsored by the Daily Express, ranks the top ten batsmen that have hit the most sixes in Friends Provident, Twenty20 Cup and NatWest Pro40 matches. It provides batsmen with another incentive for big-hitting with £2,000 and the sixes trophy for the winner, plus awards for each month’s big hitter.

The league has become a hugely popular element of Sky’s cricket coverage, with league table is featured on Sky’s domestic cricket coverage, Cricket AM and on skysports.com/sixes. It is also published each Wednesday in Daily Express.
