The Sixers added the CLT20 crown to their Big Bash win by cruising to 124 without loss in 12.3 overs having earlier dismissed the Lions for 121.
Nashua Titans all-rounder David Wiese chose the opportune moment to hit the quickest half-century of the tournament to date but it was not enough as the Sydney Sixers won a last-ball thriller to reach the final of the Champions League Twenty20. Wiese needed just 25 balls to reach the landmark, driving Titans to a score of 163 for five but they were beaten as James Pattinson and Mitchell Starc scrambled through for a bye from the final ball.
Highveld Lions defeated Delhi Daredevils by 22 runs in the first semi-final of the Champions League Twenty20 at a windy Kindsmead Stadium in Durban. A capacity crowd is expected for the final of the Champions League Twenty20 at The Wanderers Stadium at Johannesburg on Sunday, according to league organisers. There is the possibility of an all-South African final with Highveld Lions taking on Delhi Daredevils in one semi-final and Nashua Titans meeting Sydney Suxers in the other.
The final group game of the Champions League Twenty20 between Nashua Titans and Delhi Daredevils was abandoned without a ball being bowled at Centurion Park. Both sides had already qualified so the heavy rain changed nothing in terms of qualification, although the no result confirmed Delhi as the group winners.
Perth Scorchers ended their Champions League Twenty20 campaign by beating Auckland Aces by 16 runs at Centurion Park, knocking New Zealand's representatives out of the competition in the process. Perth worked hard to reach 140 for seven on a slow pitch and their bowlers then produced an effective performance to hold Auckland to 124 for eight in reply.
