Sangakkara Included In Team For Bangladesh Tour Match

Sri Lanka have included experienced batsman and former captain Kumar Sangakkara in an Emerging Players squad to play the touring Bangladesh side in a three-day game.

Sangakkara is continuing his recovery from the hand injury that ended his tour of Australia prematurely in December.

He has been named in the provisional Test squad, subject to proving his fitness ahead of the first match in Galle, which begins on 8th March.

Leg-spinner Akila Dananjaya was also set to feature but due to injury, he has been replaced by Ramith Rambuwella.

The games gets underway on 3rd March in Matara.

Sri Lanka have named an unchanged squad for the third and final One-Day International against Bangladesh after the second game in Hambantota was rained off. They won the opening match by eight wickets and the two teams will meet in the final match in Colombo tomorrow (27th March).

The arrival of the monsoon rains in Sri Lanka meant that the second One-Day International between the hosts and Bangladesh was washed out with just five overs possible in Hambantota. With the forecast for Thursday's final game looking equally wet, Sri Lanka's victory in the series opener looks like being decisive.

Dilshan Sees Sri Lanka To Easy Win

Sri Lanka waltzed to victory in the opening One-Day International against Bangladesh in Hambantota. An unbeaten century from Tillakaratne Dilshan, coupled with contributions from Kushal Perera and Kumar Sangakkara, helped them chase down their revised target of 238 with 32 balls to spare and eight wickets in hand. Tamim Iqbal had given the tourists hope with his first international hundred in almost three years and the first by a Bangladeshi against Sri Lanka in ODIs.

Sri Lanka Clinch Series In Colombo

Rangana Herath ended with match figures of 12 for 157 as Sri Lanka wrapped up victory in the second Test against Bangladesh with a day to spare in Colombo. Herath struck in the first over of the day and the home side never looked back in spite of some brief resistance from the Bangladeshi lower-order.
