Scotland And India Stalled By Rain

The World Twenty20 Group D match between Scotland and India was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to incessant rain at Kingsmead, Durban.

The rain has made an unwelcome appearance at the tournament, first playing a part in yesterday's match between Zimbabwe and Australia. The rain forced a thirty minute delay during Zimbabwe's innings but today's rain prevented the teams even taking the field.

The captains had managed to make the toss, with Scotland winning and choosing to field. As the call was made, the rain started again, and there was no further appearance from either side as play was called off.

Both sides take one point apiece from the no result, meaning Scotland can only qualify if Pakistan inflict a huge defeat on India tomorrow.
