Scotland 350 (Flannigan 102) & 296-5 dec. drew with
Namibia 263 (Haq 6-53) & 218-4
ICC Inter-Continental Cup, Windhoek

Scotland and Namibia played out a draw in their ICC Inter-Continental Cup game in Windhoek, a result that handed Scotland nine points to Namibia's three courtesy of an 87-run first-innings lead.

Ryan Flannigan's century and Majid Haq's six-wicket haul ensured they had the better of most of the game before Namibia showed enough resolve to avoid defeat.

Flannigan made 102 in 222 balls and Kyle Coetzer 62 as Scotland made 350 in their first innings as Namibia's Christoffel Viljoen returned figures of five for 94.

Haq's left-arm spin then ripped through Namibia's first innings as he took career-best figures of six for 53. Namibia's captain Craig Williams resisted by making 51, Sarel Burger made 47 and Gerrie Snyman scored 44 before Scotland established an important hold on the game.

Preston Mommsen then matched Flannigan's score of 102 - both men registering maiden first-class centuries - as Scotland hit 296 for five in their second innings before declaring to set Namibia 383 to win - Haq making 59 and Coetzer 56.

Pikky Ya France then anchored Namibia's rearguard effort with an impressive 63 not out in 225 balls as the home side frustrated Scotland's victory charge.

After they had removed Viljoen (19), Burger (7) and Williams (29) before three figures had been reached, Ya France and Snyman, who made 88 in 97 balls, put on 110 for the fourth wicket to effectively save the match and although Snyman was subsequently caught by Mommsen off the bowling of Richie Berrington, Namibia held on.

The result moves Scotland into fourth place with 16 points in the early table having drawn both of their games and they trail leaders Ireland - who have won two from two - by 24 points.

Namibia, who lost their opener against Ireland, are in seventh place with just the three points gained from this game.

ICC Inter-Continental Cup standings: 1. Ireland (40 points, 2 matches played), 2. Afghanistan (20, 1), 3. Netherlands (17, 2), 4. Scotland (16, 2), 5. Kenya (16, 2), 6. UAE (14, 1), 7. Namibia (3, 2), 8. Canada (0, 2)
