Namibia, Canada and Scotland completed the qualifiers after the group stage of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier 2012 in the United Arab Emirates.

Namibia top group B after their seventh straight win, Canada finished in third in Group A by beating Nepal but Scotland crept through in group B despite a shock seven-wicket defeat to the United States of America.

GROUP A

Canada prevailed in a low-scoring encounter against Nepal to book their place in a play-off against Ireland. Batting first, they hit 101 for seven with Jimmy Hansra unbeaten on 27 as Chandra Sawad and Paras Khadka took a pair of wickets apiece. In reply, Junaid Siddiqui returned figures of three for 11 as Nepal were bowled out for 83, Canada running out the winners by 18 runs.

Papua New Guinea closed their group campaign with a 14-run over Denmark. Geraint Jones made 46 and Maharu Dai 36 as PNG posted 148 before Denmark closed on 134 for eight in reply.

Final Standings: AFGHANISTAN 14 points, NETHERLANDS 12 points, CANADA 10 points, Papua New Guinea, Nepal 6 points, Hong Kong 4 points, Bermuda, Denmark 2 points

GROUP B

Namibia's outstanding run of form continued as they beat Italy by 27 runs. Half-centuries from openers Raymond van Schoor (73 not out) and Gerrie Snyman (78) helped them reach 194 for two. Craig Williams weighed in with an unbeaten 25 in 12 balls at the end of the innings. Italy, through Gareth Berg's 47 and Alessandro Bonora's unbeaten 40, far from disgraced themselves before they eventually closed short on 167 for eight, Louis van der Westhuizen and Sarel Burger taking two wickets each.

Scotland booked a play-off game against the Netherlands despite losing to the United States of America by seven wickets. Had the USA reached their target one ball earlier, Kenya would have advanced instead. Batting first, Scotland looked in good shape as they made 161 for eight batting first with Jan Stander hitting 58 in 31 balls. However, they were to be left red-faced as USA made 162 for three with a ball to spare thanks to Aditya Mishra's 62 and Steven Taylor's 40 at the top of the order.

Final standings: NAMIBIA 14 points, IRELAND 12 points, SCOTLAND, Kenya 8 points, Italy 6 points, USA, Uganda 4 points, Oman 0 points
