Opening batsman Virender Sehwag will play no further part in India's Asia Cup campaign after pulling a hamstring in their last-ditch three-wicket win over Pakistan on Saturday (19th June).
Sehwag was forced to bat with a runner before he was dismissed for ten and he was subsequently ruled out of playing again in the tournament.
The Indian board (BCCI) have called up Dinesh Karthik as his replacement and are awaiting clearance to play the right-hand batsman in their final group match aganst Sri Lanka.
The same two sides will meet in Thursday's final regardless of the result.
"We flew in Karthik as a standby for Sehwag. But we will have to await the Asian Cricket Council's clearance to play him in tomorrow's match against Sri Lanka," Team India manager Ranjib Biswal said.
