Valley End CC added another notch to their cricketing bedpost with a resounding win over Brentwood CC in the final of the Conference Cup played at Amersham CC last Monday. Every player in this Valley End team started playing at the club as a junior and has been a big part of the incredible success of the club over recent years – Valley End CC won the Village Cup at Lord's in 2008.
Winchmore Hill took their eighth victory of the season, beating second-placed Eastcote by 57 runs to pull out a 20-point lead at the top of the 2012 Middlesex ECB Premier League. Ealing's three-wicket win over Finchley means they join Eastcote on 60 points, trailing Winchmore Hill, who have 80.
Leaders Chorleywood were the only team in the Saracens Hertfordshire Cricket League Division One to complete a game this weekend as the total matches ruined by weather swelled to 325 this season. That is more than were called off due to weather in the entirety of the 2011 season and it was a similar story throughout the leagues, three games surviving in Division Two, one in Division Three as Divisions Four and Five saw no completed matches.
Chorleywood and Knebworth both won batting second to maintain the top two positions in the Saracens Hertfordshire Cricket League Division One. Knebworth Park dismissed Flitwick for 98 before reaching their target with three wickets to spare while Chorleywood bowled Old Fincheians out for 116, reaching 120 for two to take a convincing eight-wicket win.
2012 Middlesex ECB Premier League leaders Winchmore Hill beat Ealing by nine wickets to remain ten points clear of Eastcote at the top of the table. Eastcote were themselves in good form, thrashing Southgate by 130 runs, Adam Rossington completing a fine all-round game with 90 runs, three catches and a stumping.
Second-placed Knebworth Park have closed the gap on Saracens Hertforshire Cricket League Division One leaders Chorleywood to just six points. Leaders Chorleywood were denied a win by Totteridge Milhillians, who closed on 135 for nine having been set 166 to win while Knebworth Park capitalised by beating St Albans by 12 runs.
