Bangladesh have included opening batsman Shahriar Nafees and young pace bowler Shafiul Islam in a 14-man squad for their two-match Test series against India.
Left-hander Nafees, who scored a Test century against Australia in 2006, could be set for an international recall after breaking his links with the Indian Cricket League and also being selected in Bangladesh's One-Day International squad in the Idea Cup.
He last played a Test in February 2008 against South Africa and was one of a number of experienced players who defected to the ICL.
Meanwhile, 20-year-old pacer Islam, who was also in the Idea Cup squad, has been named in a Test squad for the first time after taking two wickets in two matches.
Shakib Al Hasan will continue to lead with wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim his deputy in the absence of Mashrafe Mortaza through injury.
The first Test in Chittagong gets underway on 17th January before the second Test in Dhaka begins on 24th January.
Bangladesh Test squad: Shakib Al Hasan (captain), Mushfiqur Rahim (vice-captain), Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Shahriar Nafees, Zunaed Siddique, Mohammad Ashraful, Roqibul Hasan, Mahmudullah, Shahadat Hossain, Rubel Hossain, Mahbubul Alam, Shafiul Islam, Enamul Haque junior
