Bangladesh have received a much-needed boost ahead of the decider against Sri Lanka in the Nidahas Trophy with the return of skipper Shakib Al Hasan.

The 30-year-old missed out on the Twenty20 International and Test series against Sri Lanka following a finger injury that he sustained in the ODI tri-series final against the same opposition.

Shakib was initially named in the Bangladesh squad but was later withdrawn after failing to make sufficient progress from the injury.

In the absence of Shakib, Mahmudullah led the side but the team lacked the flexibility and had to depend on the part-time options to complete the full quota of overs when the frontline options went expensive.

Mushfiqur Rahim has taken the responsibility of batting with two scores of unbeaten 72 with one of them helping Bangladesh chase down record score of 215 against Sri Lanka.

With both Sri Lanka and Bangladesh winning a game apiece, the winner of the Friday's contest will join India in the final of the Nidahas Trophy that will be played in Colombo on Sunday.
