Shaun Marsh will miss the Champions League Twenty20 2013 after suffering a right hamstring strain during the One-Day International series against England.
"Shaun sustained a right hamstring muscle strain in the fourth ODI in Cardiff and today had an MRI scan which confirmed the diagnosis," Cricket Australia Team Doctor Peter Brukner said.
"Shaun will now return home to Perth tomorrow for further treatment."
He had been due to head to India and join up with the Perth Scorchers, who begin their campaign against South African champions the Highveld Lions on 23rd September.
Marsh played both Twenty20 Internationals against England, scoring 28 and 13 before hammering 151 against Scotland as part of Australia's preparation for the ODI series.
The left-hander failed to score at Old Trafford and made 25 at Cardiff during his only appearances.
