Nottinghamshire fast bowler Charlie Shreck has signed a new two-year contract which keeps him at Trent Bridge until the end of the 2012 season.
Shreck made just five County Championship appearances for the Outlaws in 2010 following a string of injuries but Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket hopes he can recapture his best form.
“Charlie has made good progress in the off-season and we intend to find some overseas cricket for him in the New Year to help him achieve match fitness,” he said.
“His one day appearances will be limited because our intention is to keep him fresh for our championship matches where he has made big contributions in the past.
“It is very important that we maintain a strong group of quick bowlers and Charlie is very much part of that.”
He faces competition for a first-team place from the likes of Andre Adams, Paul Franks, Darren Pattinson, Ben Phillips, Luke Fletcher, Andy Carter and Jake Ball.
The tall Cornishman has taken 307 wickets in 85 first-class matches with a best of eight for 31.
