Sibanda Replaces Williams In Zimbabwe World Cup Squad
Opening batsman Vusimuzi Sibanda has been called up to Zimbabwe's ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 squad as a replacement for Sean Williams.
The ICC Technical Committee has given Zimbabwe approval to make the change after Williams fractured his right thumb during training ahead of Zimbabwe's ten-wicket defeat to New Zealand.
Sibanda, 27, has played 85 One-Day Internationals for his country and he becomes the 12th replacement of the tournament and the fourth squad change made by Zimbabwe after Sean Ervine, Tinotenda Mawoyo and Ed Rainsford were ruled out.
Sibanda opened the batting during Zimbabwe's 2007 World Cup campaign, where they tied with Ireland but failed to progress following losses to Pakistan and the West Indies.
Zimbabwe, who have lost to Australia and New Zealand while they have also beaten Canada.
