Bangladesh coach Jamie Siddons is confident that his side will bounce back from a heavy Test series loss against Sri Lanka and put in an improved performance when they take on Zimbabwe in the first match of an ODI tri-series in Mirpur.

"I'm confident like I was against Ireland," Siddons said. "I think we are a better side but it is the players who have to deliver on the day. I am confident in the preparation and we have the best team we can put in the park. Based on our ranking and our position in to be the one-day ranking and given that we are an improving cricket team, I am very confident."

Sri Lanka are also involved in the tri-series which begins on January 10th before Bangladesh play Zimbabwe in three further ODIs beginning on January 19th.

"At the end of the day it is all about how our players execute their skills," he added. "Their bowlers will bowl the ball and their batsmen will attack early, we know that and we have to be prepared to put the ball in the right areas. We need to bat, bowl and field better than they do and the game would take care of itself."

He also revealed that 19-year-old pacer Rubel Hossain and left-arm spinner Enamul Haque junior would be left out of the squad, meaning one of either Nazmul Hossain or Mahmudullah would play having been recalled to the squad.
