Leading sports brand Slazenger today announced that it has extended its sponsorship with Durham and England star Paul Collingwood.

Collingwood, captain of the England Twenty20 side and a crucial member of the Test side, has hit over 4,000 runs in his International Test Cricket career to date, and became the first player in 78 years to hit a double century in Australia when he hit 206 during the 2006-07 Ashes series.

In 2010 Collingwood, who is England’s most capped ODI cricketer and leading ODI run scorer, captained England to their first ICC Trophy - the 2010 World Twenty20 Championship, and heads into the upcoming Ashes series as one of the most feared batsmen in World Cricket.

Collingwood will endorse the V100 bat, part of Slazenger’s new 2011 cricket range. The V100 has been developed for players who demand an ultra lightweight bat for destructive precision, and Collingwood will use the V100 in this winter’s Ashes series in Australia.

Sunny Singh, Head of Sports Marketing, said: “"Paul has been a great ambassador for Slazenger for many years and we look forward to supporting him in the future armed with his new Slazenger V100 bat, Paul will be one of the world’s most respected batsmen and one of England’s dangermen in the Ashes series’.
