Leading sports brand Slazenger announces that it has signed a sponsorship deal with Middlesex and England star Eoin Morgan.

As one of the hottest prospects in cricket today, Morgan burst to international prominence with his combination of steely-eyed determination, wristy reverse-sweeps and power hitting down the ground as he played a key role in England's surge to ICC World Twenty20 glory in the Caribbean.

He is the only player in history to score an ODI hundred for two nations and is particularly noted for his lower-order hitting ability, seeing him labeled as a 'finisher'. His reputation as a one-day finisher got a huge boost as a nerveless unbeaten century saw England to victory in the first ODI against Australia in June 2010. England went on to win 3-2, with Morgan named man of the series.

Morgan is currently playing a part in England’s retaining of the Ashes in Australia where he is endorsing the V360 bat, part of Slazenger’s new 2011 cricket range. The V360 high middle has been developed for fantastic all round improvised shot making. The higher extended sweet spot gives the batsman manoeuvrability and a beautiful balanced pick up, allowing them to adapt to each delivery, perfect for Morgan’s infamous reverse sweep.

Sunny Singh, Head of Sports Marketing, said: “Eoin is an extremely talented cricketer and we are thrilled to have him on board with Slazenger. He’s got the potential to be a fixture in the England team for many years to come and we look forward to seeing him score many runs for his country in the future – using his new Slazenger bat!”.
