Smith Out Of Twenty20 As Kleinveldt And Louw Debut

Graeme Smith will miss the Twenty20 International against Bangladesh on Wednesday as Rory Kleinveldt and Johann Louw will make their Twenty20 International debut in Johannesburg.

"Graeme is making very good progress and are monitoring him on a day-to-day basis," acting selection convener Gerald Majola said. "We are confident that he will return at some stage of the Bangladesh tour and we will be guided by our medical team in that regard."

Johan Botha will continue to captain the side as Dale Steyn will also make his first international appearance of the season after recovering from a recent illness.

"We decided not to replace Smith in the squad with an additional player as we do not want to disrupt franchises who are preparing for the next round of SuperSport Series matches starting on Thursday," Majola explained.

South Africa: Johan Botha (captain), Loots Bosman, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Herschelle Gibbs, Rory Kleinveldt, Johann Louw, Albie Morkel, Morne Morkel, Justin Ontong, Dale Steyn
