South Africa have called up uncapped all-rounder Francois du Plessis and leg-spinner Imran Tahir for the One-Day International series against India.
Du Plessis, who also bowls leg-spin and is a superb fielder, comes into the side which will not include experienced batsman Jacques Kallis for at least the first two matches of the five-match series due to a rib injury.
Former Pakistan A spinner Tahir only qualified to play for South Africa earlier this month and has immediately been called up alongside spinners Johan Botha and Robin Peterson.
Du Plessis, 26, has been called up on the back of excellent form for the Nashua Titans, for whom he has scored 567 runs including three centuries in this season's domestic competition while Dolphins star Tahir helped Warwickshire claim the Clydesdale Bank 40 competition in England last year.
The series gets underway on 12th January in Durban following the one-off Twenty20 International, also being played in Durban.
South Africa One-Day International squad: Graeme Smith (captain), Hashim Amla, Johan Botha, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy , Francois du Plessis, Colin Ingram, David Miller, Morne Morkel, Wayne Parnell, Robin Petersen, Dale Steyn, Imran Tahir, Lonwabo Tsotsobe.
