The fixtures for South Africa’s forthcoming tour of the UAE, where they will play Pakistan, have been announced.
Their visit begins with a three-day warm-up match and then there are two Tests in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, beginning on 14th and 23rd October respectively. A five-match One Day International series then begins on 30th October, with two of the games in Sharjah, with a brace of Twenty20 Internationals then rounding of the tour in Dubai on 13th and 15th November.
The tour of the UAE is the start of a busy period of international cricket for the Proteas as they look to maintain their number one Test ranking, as well as improve on their recent mediocre record in the shorter forms of the game. When the side returns from the UAE, they will almost immediately be into their home series against India and Australia, the itinerary for which were announced yesterday. However, according to ESPNcricinfo, the BCCI have since objected to the itinerary for their tour so that is now likely to change.
