Cricket South Africa have named a 14-strong squad for the Women's One-Day and Twenty20 International tri-series that begin in Qatar on Friday (10th January).
The South Africans will play Ireland and Pakistan twice each in the ODI tri-series ahead of the final on 17th January before the same format will be used for the Twenty20 series between 19th and 24th January.
All three sides are in the same group at the ICC Women's World Twenty20 2014, to be held in Bangladesh in March, where they will also meet defending champions Australia and twice runners-up New Zealand.
"This is a very welcome opportunity for the team, especially so close to the World T20,” coach Hilton Moreeng said.
"This will be the perfect opportunity for us to see where we stand against other international sides since our last competitive game (against Sri Lanka) last November.
"Touring the sub-continent is also the ideal opportunity for me to be able to see how players adapt to the conditions and to teams that they are not exposed to often like Ireland."
South Africa squad: Mignon du Preez (captain), Trisha Chetty (vice-captain), Moseline Daniels, Shandré Fritz, Shabnim Ismail, Marizanne Kapp, Lizelle Lee, Marcia Letsoalo, Sunette Loubser, Suné Luus, Nadine Moodley, Yolandi Potgieter, Chloe Tryon, Dané van Niekerk
