South Africa Resist Temptation To Change ODI Squad
South Africa have named an unchanged squad for the second and third one-day internationals against the West Indies, despite a number of key players not being fully fit.

Dale Steyn has a hamstring problem, Graeme Smith and Justin Ontong are nursing knee injuries, Herschelle Gibbs has a calf issue and Andre Nel has hurt his neck, but no replacement players have been named.

Smith, who was unable represent his side at the post-match presentation after the opening six-wicket win in Centurion after he injured his knee fielding, has shown signs that he will be fit for the next game, in Cape Town on Friday, January 25th.

"Ordinarily we would prefer to have a slightly smaller squad," commented selection chief Joubert Strydom.

"But we have a number of niggles in the squad in addition to Smith’s injury and we feel it is prudent to have the additional depth."

South Africa: Graeme Smith (Nashua Cape Cobras, capt), Herschelle Gibbs (Nashua Cape Cobras), Jacques Kallis (Nashua Cape Cobras), AB de Villiers (Nashua Titans), JP Duminy (Nashua Cape Cobras), Justin Ontong (bizhub Highveld Lions), Mark Boucher (Nashua Cape Cobras), Shaun Pollock (Nashua Dolphins), Albie Morkel (Nashua Titans), Johan Botha (Chevrolet Warriors), Morne Morkel (Nashua Titans), Andre Nel (Nashua Titans), Dale Steyn (Nashua Titans), Charl Langeveldt (Nashua Cape Cobras), Makhaya Ntini (Chevrolet Warriors).
